Twelve area restaurants to host wine tasting Saturday
evening
Heron Hill's new limited edition Riesling wine
with Big City Summer Fest label offered for taste testing
Rochester, N.Y. (July 16, 2007) What makes a perfect
summer wine? Wine tasters at 12 area restaurants can make that
decision this Saturday evening when they sample Big City Summer Fest,
a limited edition semi-dry Riesling wine from Heron Hill Winery.
Heron Hill's special Riesling comes from the slopes of
western Keuka Lake, where you can find some of the oldest vinifera
vines in the Finger Lakes region. A major sponsor of Rochester's
newest month-long series of music fests, Heron Hill developed the Big
City Summer Fest label to celebrate the first year of the festival.
"We're excited about the enthusiasm for this wine",
said John Ingle, owner of Heron Hill. "Over 300 cases were sold to
Rochester area restaurants and liquor stores before The Big City
Summerfest even opened." Wine tastings will be at the following 12
restaurants: Solera, Grille at the Strathallan, Sinbad's, Tapas, Beale
Street Caf -S Ave, Distillery-Mt Hope, Triphammer, Scotch and Sirloin,
Pomadoro and Hogan's. Reservations for dinner may be required. For
more information, please go to
www.bigcitysummerfest.com
or call the restaurant.
Big City Summer Fest's Riesling will also be available at the World
Beat festival in High Falls from July 19-21 and at the Ribbin' on the
River festival near Court Street Bridge from July 26-28. It is also
available in over 50 restaurants and liquor stores in the Rochester
area. For a complete listing, go to
www.bigcitysummerfest.com.
"We've got some really remarkable music during World Beat, and our
sponsors are making it possible for everyone to hear it by subsidizing
free concerts and low ticket prices. Our businesses and city and
county governments have definitely stepped up to the plate to support
Rochester's love of music," said Jeff Springut, producer and founder
of Big City Summer Fest.
Supporters of Big City Summer Fest includes the City of Rochester
Mayor Bob Duffy, NY State Senator Jim Alesi, Monroe County Executive
Maggie Brooks, LAMAR Outdoor Advertising, Heron Hill Vineyards,
13WHAM-TV, Labatt's, Budweiser, House of Guitars, Bryant and Stratton
College, The Rochester Razorsharks, CUSTOMERicity, City Newspaper, the
