  • Secular Organizations for Sobriety.  SOS Rochester, NY.  "SOS, informally known as "Save Our Selves", is a non-religious support group dedicated to helping people quit alcohol and drugs. We are an alternative to self-help groups that emphasize religious or spiritual beliefs."

  • American Cancer Society.  "The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has state divisions and more than 3,400 local offices."

End of Life

  • Compassion and Support.  ""Individuals facing serious life-threatening illness and approaching death deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion and to receive care that is focused on the individual's goals for care. Families need and deserve to receive support. To achieve their goals, individuals need to plan ahead, know their choices, make sound decisions and share their wishes with their loved ones and health care professionals. This Web site aims to educate and empower patients, families, health care and other professionals to accomplish this goal."

  • Planned Parenthood.  "Planned Parenthood protects and supports every person's right to make voluntary, informed decisions about sexuality and reproduction in order to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. To do this, Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region provides health care, education, counseling, and leadership in preserving the right to reproductive freedom. Special emphasis is given to women who have limited access to services."

Sex Addiction

  • S-Anon. " S-Anon is a program of recovery for those who have been affected by someone else's sexual behavior. S-Anon is based on the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous."
  • Sexaholics Anonymous.  "Modeled after Alcoholics Anonymous, SA is a fellowship of men and women helping one another to recover from sexual addiction. SA was started in 1981 and follows the Twelve-Step Program of AA. The Rochester SA fellowship has been active since 1983. The only requirement for membership in SA is a desire to stop lusting and to become sexually sober.

You may be interested in Sexaholics Anonymous if you feel that you have sexual behaviors which appear to be out of control: adultery, promiscuity, compulsive masturbation, use of pornography, Internet sex, unhealthy relationships or persistent erotic fantasy.

Those seeking help for themselves may call (585) 234-0359 and leave a message requesting additional information. An SA member will return such calls discreetly. We are interested in attraction to – not promotion of – our fellowship and we do not seek media or other attention to our program. SA members value their anonymity which is necessary in our ability to help others and also due to the sensitive nature of sexual addiction.

ASL interpreted and handicapped accessible meetings available."
  • Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous. "Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, or S.L.A.A., is a Twelve Step, Twelve Tradition oriented Fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. We offer help to anyone who has a sex addiction or love addiction or both and wants to do something about it. We S.L.A.A.’s have a special understanding of each other and the disease, and we have learned how to recover through The Twelve Steps of S.L.A.A."
  • "This site was created by noted psychologist and author, Dr. Patrick Carnes, to help those affected by sexual addiction and compulsivity, whether it be the addict or the friend or loved one of the addict."
