  • Borinquen Dance Theatre. "Borinquen was founded in 1981 and is known for its unique blend of Puerto Rican Folkloric and Latin contemporary style. Borinquen Dance Theatre has performed throughout the United States and Canada delighting audiences from Michigan to Kentucky, at festivals in New York City to Niagara Falls and venues such as the International Hispanic World’s Fair."
  • Congress on Research in Dance. "The Congress on Research in Dance(CORD) provides opportunities for dance professionals from a broad range of specialties to exchange ideas, resources, and methodologies through publication, international and regional conferences, and workshops. We encourage research in all aspects of dance and related fields and promote the accessibility of research materials."
  • Country Dancers of Rochester. "Country Dancers of Rochester sponsors traditional New England Contra Dances and English country dances...Our dances are participatory and open to all, with live music, and smoke and alcohol free. Newcomers are always welcome. Dances are taught and prompted, with more teaching at the beginning of the evening. No partner or special dress needed — dress comfortably and wear soft-soled, low-heeled shoes."
  • Garth Fagan Dance. "Garth Fagan has been called "a true original," "a genuine leader," and "one of the great reformers of American dance." As another critic put it, "in the genealogy of modern dance, he's started a whole new branch of the family tree."

    Fagan’s achievements - the creation of the internationally acclaimed Garth Fagan Dance, the company that fulfills his vision, and work as choreographer, most recently and notably for Walt Disney’s The Lion King – have been recognized by a host of awards and honors."
  • Flower City Ballet. "Flower City Ballet seeks to provide students with the highest quality of classical ballet instruction.   • Hochstein School of Music & Dance. "Since 1920, Hochstein School of Music & Dance has served as Rochester's community school of the arts--welcoming and nurturing students of all ages, all levels of skill, and all background--regardless of financial means. Each year more than 4,000 students attend Hochstein. They enjoy an exceptional 140-member faculty, individualized programs, unique ensemble and performance opportunities, a renovated, climate-controlled facility, and a reasonable fee schedule with financial assistance options."
  • Inikori Dance Studio. "Inikori Dance Studio was founded by and is under the directorship of Jonah Inikori. Inikori Dance Studio offers instruction in both club and ballroom styles of dance. We offer classes for youth and all ages of adults. Dance styles include Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango, Waltz, Rumba, Mambo, Swing, Fox Trot, Merengue, Bachata, and Samba. The atmosphere at our studio is a warm and friendly one, encouraging social interaction and a family feel amongst our students, and between students and staff. We provide private and group lesson instruction. We also host

  • Kista Tucker Dance Company. "In 1995 Kista Tucker decided to start a company. Solo work was quite gratifying, but the wonder of things that could happen with more than one person on the stage at the same time was strong. Since then, Kista did not look back. She loves creating group works as well as her solos."
  • Park Avenue Dance Company. "The Company is under the direction of Christine Fendley. Members of the company audition through the advanced level Modern Contemporary Dance technique class. Company choreographers have the opportunity to present their work.  The company has appeared at the Memorial Art Gallery, the Choreographer Series at Monroe Community College and Pyramid Arts Center, the Annual Contemporary Dance Series and self-produces concerts throughout the year. Park Avenue Dance Company has been the recipient of several grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, New York State Legislature, Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester, and The Wilmot Foundation, among others."
  • Pointes of Faith Dancers, Inc. "Pointes of Faith Dancers, Inc. is a professional Christian dance company that performs for communities throughout New York State, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. The artistic director, Rachael Platt (BPS in dance performance), choreographs using Biblical story lines and Biblical themes to show what Christ can do and has done in us and in others.The company employs dancers who either have their Bachelor's degree in dance or have an expertise in any one or more dance forms."
  • Rochester City Ballet. "Rochester City Ballet is a contemporary ballet company located in Rochester, New York. Considered one of the best regional ballet companies in the United States, RCB has garnered a long list of accolades and a wonderfully dedicated audience."
  • Rochester Contemporary Dance Collective. "The Rochester Contemporary Dance Collective collaborates with dance artists throughout the Western New York Region to strengthen the dance community through performances, advocacy, and Dance Dialogues, a non-directive feedback process that invites choreographers to present, discuss and receive comments about their work.   RCDC’s E-news gives monthly dance news about regional performances, classes, workshops and dance related events."
  • Rochester Swing Dance Network. "A community organization promoting Swing dancing in the Rochester area, RSDN is dedicated to fostering an open and vibrant dance community. We offer dances with live music provided by premier bands, classes in swing and other social dances taught by Richard Newman & Esther Brill, workshops with world-renowned teachers, and ongoing record hops. Our events are informal and fun, beginners and all ages are welcome, and you don't need to come with a partner."
