The following information is useful only to residents of Upstate New York. If you live outside the Upstate New York area, try using Google News and the keywords flu, American, the state in which you live or the nearest Canadian province. I was able to find flu stories and vaccine resources for Vancouver, Idaho, Manitoba, and Ontario using this method.
